I decided to tackle the Flea Market on a different day last week, rain will change your plans like that. This particular Flea Market is advertised as being open Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday. I've always known that Wednesday was the original and most popular day and it's the only day I've ever gone. Due to rain the visit got postponed until Friday. As I approached the usually overflowing lot a feeling of dread came over me. Most of the open air shed was empty and there was only a small spattering of cars in the parking lot (field). Did I drive 40 minutes for this? Gas is too expensive for that, my friends. I put on a smile and decided to walk the booths to see if I could save the trip. I did manage to fill a couple of bags and find some trinkets. From the perspective of reselling the trip may have been a bust but the thrifter and antiques lover had a fun time looking!
This sewing box caught my eye and it included a handful of accessories. I'm cleaning it up and trying to figure out if any of it can still be of use to someone.
This old dictionary came from quite a varied booth, everything from old military matchbooks to potato chips. I also picked up a few glass bottles from this lady.

I also found a few nice things from the thrift stores and even an inexpensive antique store goody this week:
Most of the above will be listed in my Etsy shop in the coming days.
P.S. I'm curious. Do any of you shop Etsy? If so, what type of items do you look for? I've bought soaps and shampoo regularly and I've purchased baby gifts that I LOVE. The longer I've had my shop, the more I'm discovering. I just bought some beautiful Easter basket sweets and I can't wait to receive them.
Last week's focus was the pantry and refrigerator. Although everyone wants more storage space, I should be thankful that our home has any form of pantry, as small as it seems. The small size demands organizing attention at least once every four months. I used a mix of purchased containers and free re-purposed items to help with the organization. My plan of attack was to remove items from two shelves at a time and replace items in like groups. If I decided not to put it back in it's original spot on the shelf the item just hung out on the counter until enough "like" items joined it!
Starting at the top:

This area was an even bigger mess before! Things tend to get randomly tossed and land where they may on the top (hard to reach) shelves. I added an empty Girl Scout Cookie box to contain the cups and create another shelf. The red plastic basket holds paper napkins (many left over from birthday parties) and plastic utensils. We don't use many paper products in our house but it is convenient to have a stash for picnics or party extras.

I've always used the wire shelf racks in my pantry and cabinets. They are a "must have" in order to make the most of your space. As you can see, baking items are grouped together, cans and jars together. The middle shelf holds mostly drinks and vitamins. Tea packets and Cocoa Mix are in the white Tupperware container and vitamin packets and tincture bottles are in the blue box. The bottom shelf holds items that the children use often, cereal and snacks. The clear modular press and lock containers are from Target. They were a little on the expensive side but well worth it.

On the opposite side: Baking Mixes, pasta and grains are grouped together. The Tupperware Modular boxes hold nuts and dry salad toppings, small bags of grains, soup or spice packets. As I look at this photo I know that labels would help but it seems that the contents of the boxes often change so I've never committed to labels! The bottom shelf isn't very visible but holds a box of trash bags and an under-shelf rack with zip-loc bags, foil, etc.

All good deeds are rewarded. Well, not all, but cleaning out the pantry was rewarded with this yummy chocolate bar hiding behind the Cream of Wheat! Don't mind if I do.

What is that hideous thing above? I know it's not pretty but is was quick, practical and free! We re-use plastic grocery bags for trash can liners and picking up dog poop. You do too, right? Instead of having a mass of bags falling off the shelf I cut a hole in a shoe box and can easily stuff bags in or pull them out when needed.

Gathered the random messy stack of grocery and gift bags and put them into one reusable grocery bag. Not great, but better.

These stacking recycling bins fit right under the bottom shelf. One for paper, one for glass and plastic. Love that you can access the bottom bin(s) through the hinged lid. From Ikea. Yes, I know that's a random bag of dog food that needs a new home. The opposite side of the pantry floor houses the lidded trash can. I make myself be okay with trash in the pantry by reminding myself it's covered. Is trash in the pantry weird? Best we can do at the moment.

This concludes the pantry tour. Keeping it real, folks. I've also made a commitment to allow myself to spend some money on a few higher priced items later this week (clearly not what you see below!). I have 68 items in my shop and only 5 are priced above $20! I'm ok with that since my goal was to start small and not lose money. I've had a decent number of sales the past two weeks so I'm going to visit the antiques market and hopefully the flea market this week and put the money back into the shop.
Who remembers Arthur's Honey Bear? One of my favorite books as a kid. Surprise, a tag sale plays heavily in the plot. Of course this is only a fraction of the books I picked up this week. I'm having free shipping on books this month in hopes of moving more from the shop!
Lovely, worn ironstone creamer. Likely qualifies as an antique. Holds about 1 1/2 cups comfortably. As much coffee as I consume this large creamer is perfect. I really love it, probably a keeper. Marked USA on the bottom.
I know...totally not my style. These are actually very sweet vintage cross stitch pieces when seen in person (or with better photos). People get sweet and kinda kitschy during Easter so I thought I would put them in the shop for super cheap-o. Maybe different frames would give them some new life?
And in unrelated news: My kids have tried and enjoyed felting. The above tiny felting pack sells at our Hobby Lobby for $2.50 (or $3?) and I purchased it for $0.49. Handy. There is also a Star Wars birthday party in my future so I was very happy to grab 18 sticker packs for $1.80.
I've turned our breakfast nook into a little gallery for the kids' artwork. It's a grouping of mostly abstract painting with some crayon and collage thrown into the mix.

The black frames unify the different artwork which I think is helpful since there isn't really a color scheme going on. The breakfast nook or kitchen is often a fairly casual space in a home. It seems like a logical place to display kids' artwork. It's displayed and obviously valued by the family but doesn't overtake the decor if you prefer to have a formal living room free of kiddie stuff.
Although I'm not very good at tossing artwork, framing a couple of pieces each year makes it easier to let some of the drawings and paintings make their way to the recycle center.Inside Voiceshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09627790132822946733noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-115023338436494070.post-14910536857209678642011-03-21T03:56:00.000-07:002011-03-21T03:56:49.714-07:00Thrift Share - March 21The thrifting was light this week. Most of the week was spent taking care of sick children. I hopefully checked craigslist Sunday morning but in our neck of the woods estate sales, and even yard sales, usually wrap up by Saturday afternoon. My treasures from two 5 minute resale shop stops:
This gorgeous milk glass dish was is in wonderful condition. Still smooth and shiny and came with a twin! I think this would traditionally be used for relish maybe? I envision them holding some wonderful collection. How beautiful would these be filled with chandelier crystals or vintage thread?
I love this key ring. I initially thought it was all brass but then found a little scrap on the middle ring. The middle ring is likely zinc with brass plating. Does that mean the large ring is plating also? I suppose so...cool nonetheless.
How do feel about the things that are fragile and delicate?

My mother-in-law invited me to go along one afternoon as she was cleaning out some things from her mother's house. I knew that she wanted us to take a very old set of china which belonged to my husband's great-grandmother and I left with a bookshelf, books, and a few other small trinkets as well.

The shelf and books were put to use right away but the china remained packed in our basement for several months. It's intended for my son, who's middle name belongs to the great-grandmother and the china bears that initial. I've recently decided that this is a better place for it:

Yes, I'm a little worried that one of the dishes will be broken. Surprisingly there is a perfect set of six place settings even after all these years. Isn't part of the reason for keeping things from relatives to think about and remember them? Because we have a few of these passed down things around the house, we tend to talk about their past owners and others in our family. It reminds use to share memories with our children who didn't have the chance to know the great-grandmother or the uncle who passed away.

These sweet little birds sit in front of my "wedding" china. One of the kids wanted to help me display things in this cabinet and he gently held the little birds and of course asked, "Where did these come from?" They may well be broken before my children reach adulthood but at least they have served a purpose.Inside Voiceshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09627790132822946733noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-115023338436494070.post-77777934960578580412011-03-19T12:18:00.000-07:002011-03-19T18:17:21.372-07:00Houston, We Have a ProblemSo...Simple Mom's "hot spot" for the <s>Spring Challenge</s> Project: Simplify was the paper pile. "The" paper pile implies one paper pile. People have one? I have multiple paper piles, stashed everywhere. Stashed in the storage closet because I had to clean up quickly. Stashed in a paper bag because my paper basket was over flowing. Stashed under my bed because I brought a pile in from the car and didn't have time to deal with it...

This is not a five day task for me! Since the project was announced 6 days ago I've made decent progress. It will be another 3 or 4 days before I'm willing to post "after" pictures. Here are a few pictures of the train wreck as it was on March 14:
I've found some goodies to share. I must say, this Etsy shop ownership is getting dangerous. Whenever I'm at an estate sale or out thrifting I found myself constantly saying, "I can sell that!". It's a fabulous excuse to take home way too much. I should be banned from sales until I actually make a few more sales...

I just happened to drive by a partial "estate" sale (hello, yard sale) right down the street from my house on Friday. I came home with this gorgeous chenille bedspread. My husband's not crazy about it so it may end up on Etsy...
I strive to have a paperless kitchen so whenever I find clean looking linens I grab them. I was also happy to have found the little service bell on the thrift store shelf.
The above office storage box was also at a thrift store. 25 cent sale on all office supplies? Yes Please! This will be in the shop later, listed fairly cheap due to the original price.
As I mentioned in the previous post, I've committed to joining "Project Simplify" with Simple Mom. Although I didn't devote enough time to tackle my dresser drawers, my closet (my half at least) is complete and looks much better. Here's the brief run-down with photos!
Her closet re-do wasn't done by Martha Stewart and a magazine staff, it was a "real life re-do". I didn't spend any money or make this a 12 hour endeavor. I feel better when I open the closet door and know I actually want to spend a couple of hours and go through my dresser also. Tsh and her group of contributors post an array of topics, the blog's subtitle is "Life hacks for home managers". Perfect. Tsh gave the heads up about a Spring Challenge (I think it's called Project Simplify) a few weeks ago and she introduced the first "hot spot" yesterday. It's the closet...
I'm on board. I wish I was excited about this. I want to be excited about this. I'm forcing myself to follow along because I really need some motivation. The idea is more focused on your clothes than your closet, although it stands to reason that once you've gone through all your clothes your closet will obviously look nicer. Before photos have been taken and three minutes from NOW I'll have published this embarrassing post and my messiness will be out there for all the world to see. When I say "All the World" I, of course, am referring to my lone follower and a handful of stragglers. Guess that's not so embarrassing after all!

Here goes:
My only disappointment was the fact that I didn't have enough time to take it all in. That 3 hour preschool window can put a damper on thrifting, but I shouldn't complain...at all...I've got it good. It takes 40 minutes to get to the flea so once there I scanned like crazy and tried not to stop too often. Don't you agree that it would feel a little strange to whip out your camera at the flea? Maybe it's just "the south", but this flea market breed is tough to read. I decided to wait until I got home to snap my finds. Maybe next time I'll be brave and get some photos while I'm there. Some of these will be in the shop...eventually.
Awesome military signal/flare box. It's a little rusty but overall in great condition, the hinge and latches work fine. Unique storage option. The man at this particular booth was literally falling asleep on the job. He had about a 50'x30' area full of stuff. Furniture, linens, glass, rusty farm tools, books, wood stoves, etc. Whenever someone had a question they would have to say, "Sir", about 4 times to wake him from his cat nap. I also scored the next two finds from this character (I'm not complaining, he was quite agreeable with his bargaining!).
These trays remind me of school lunches! I also bought two more with a faux wood finish (they're listed in the shop already. I think they'd make perfect crafting trays. I also give my kids trays when they sit down to put a lego project together.
I already own a set of these Fire King custard cups but you can never have too many, right? I think they are screaming to organize an office desk drawer or beading supplies. There are quite a few of these already on Etsy...undecided about listing or keeping.
Something about these is just beautiful. I don't bake, I've never decorated a cake, but I picked these up immediately. They were made in Germany and are in surprisingly good condition. This woman also had a vintage wood sewing needle display, the kind that would be found in a general store in the early 1900s. I believe it was "Boyle". Any sewing experts would have surely loved it.
The bottles came from a man who said he dug them up in Virginia. Interesting how something so beautiful was tossed out with the trash. I guess we forget how the mundane can be lovely. I had intended to list the Ball jar but upon closer inspection there may be a little crack. I can't tell if it's a crack or just a pitch fork scratch. I would be awfully embarrassed to put it in the mail and have it arrive broken on someone's doorstep.
I was originally inspired by my neighbor's glassfront cupboard that anchors her living room. She has a classic style, her home is very comfortable to be in. Lots of antiques and beautiful textures. Everything is very calm and appealing to the eye, neutral colors, nothing competing for attention.
Think about a shelf full of modern bookcovers with bright colors and various competing fonts. A rainbow of dust jacket colors sometimes tamed by grouping. What feeling does that create in comparison to a shelf full of vintage books? Brown, navy, muted red or soft green. The titles, sometimes barely visible with a slightly gold shimmer. Even the dust jackets' colors are muted by time and don't scream for attention.
I've picked up quite a few books in the last two weeks (about twice what is pictured below). I also have gathered a great collection of vintage craft books and nature guides.
Two weeks ago it was my computer, now the camera. Bye, bye tax refund.
I've had some nice thrifting trips over the last few days, all small things but they bring a little joy nonetheless!
I have loved calligraphy since I was a child and my grandparents bought me a calligraphy set for my birthday. This has been a fun book to flip through. About a month ago I bought a book by Mortimer Leach ,Lettering for Advertising. When I opened the paperback shown above the same owner's name was written on the inside cover!
I am falling in love with vintage books. I can't understand how anyone reads on a Nook (Knook?) or other device full time. The feel of a book in your hands is so comforting (sorry, cheesy, I know). I put this set together from my recent finds from antique markets and thrifting. I listed it in my Etsy shop on Thursday and it sold on Friday! They've only encouraged me, now I'm prepared to list endless books this week.
This poor platter was in horrible shape when I discovered it. A little baking soda cleaning has it looking lovely. It's from Buffalo pottery and has the raised buffalo mark on the back. I'm researching when the various marks were used in order to date this platter.
This pewter cup was found at an "upscale resale" shop. I got it for a great price, I suppose because it is already engraved. Personally, I love silver and pewter that's been engraved. If you have or are trying to create a collection I think the engraving makes for interesting conversation and makes your collection unique.
In the last couple of years I've started to change how I think about where and how to buy rugs and quickly realized that nice rugs aren't out of the question for a small budget.

These are two rugs I've bought in the last year:

This is a nice quality, hand-knotted wool rug that I purchased for $100. It measures 7'x4.5' and lies in front of our bedroom seating area. I attended a storage space sale that was advertised on craigslist. A woman in her sixties was looking to clear out her many purchases from 20 years of travel and residence in Europe and the Middle East. She had stored her excess treasures at a U-Haul facility and simply held a sale right out of the storage unit. Read the details of garage sale advertisements! You won't stumble upon the "jack-pot" every weekend but if you look consistently, a good sale will eventually come your way.
Last summer I discovered two great furniture consignment stores in our city. I recently purchased this rug for $65, it measures 3.5'x6'. Many design blogs and shelter magazines had been including beautiful, very worn, antique rugs in their spreads. I commonly see similar rugs in antique stores for $300-$600 so I was pleasantly surprised when I confirmed the price. Both furniture consignment stores in our area also carry a wide selection of rugs and small decor accessories and a handful of quality antiques. Check out the stores in your area! Go with an open mind and always try to picture the item in another setting. It's common for consignment stores to allow you to try the item in your home before committing to purchase.
If I was educated in interior design I'd make some insightful comments about rugs anchoring the room, setting the tone, blah, blah...but since I'm not I'll leave it to the awesome design blogs out there:
Our house has an awesome covered deck and until recently it's been fairly cluttered and not too inviting. We have mounted heat lamps and seasonal clear covers so it should be getting use almost year-round.

In an effort to start sprucing up the deck, I went to The Salvation Army on Friday and came home with this:

I purposefully went to the thrift store looking for a coffee table. I rarely have a specific item in mind when I shop second hand and I was a little surprised that the thrifting gods granted my request so quickly. Is there a procedure for thanking the thrifting gods? Lemme know, would ya?

The surface is laminate and I'm assuming it's from the late 50s or the 60s (early 70s?). I've done zippo research but it seems like something produced for an elementary school library.

The best thing about it is the price - $10! So don't feel guilty if you leave me a comment saying it's the most hideous thing ever...I won't cry because it was only $10, yippee!

Obviously I walked by the housewares aisle while I was there and I found this little lovely:

It's a McCoy but only has the mold # and USA stamp. As you can see on this next picture the glaze on the base is a little sloppy. I haven't seen many small McCoy pitchers so I have no idea if this is typical.

It caught my eye because I recently bought her big sister on sale at an antique market. Big Sis is currently in my Etsy shop:
Sadly, my brief trip to The SA was my only hunting. The weekend was too busy for any estate sales or antique markets so I'm looking forward to checking out what else is being shared over at Apron Thrift Girl.
At one point, the phrase "sophisticated pop decor" is used to describe the decorating. That's certainly not my personal style but I was immediately drawn to the predominantly black and white color scheme.

The black and white never looks extreme, thanks to pops of color in smaller decor/accent pieces. Each room also has a piece of antique furniture or a natural element, like woven baskets, that brings some warmth.
I had this home in mind when I decided to paint the interior of our front door black. Apparently Edwards painted all of her interior doors black, which I would eventually LOVE to do. Not sure if I can get the hubby on board...

Domino often provided paint color information on their spreads but I couldn't find anything listed for the Edwards feature. It's definitely a warm white for the walls and I'm assuming the black is high-gloss.

I painted my interior door several months ago, just before Ralph Lauren Paints left Home Depot. The color is "Bone Black". I read somewhere (Bryn Alexandra?) that Home Depot still has the ability to mix past colors. I guess the color formulas are kept in their computers but you'd have to verify.

I love the black interior doors throughout. A really inexpensive way to make an impact, especially for those of us (ME) who tend to be a little wishy-washy with their interior design.Inside Voiceshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09627790132822946733noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-115023338436494070.post-23224363803577432832011-02-17T08:30:00.000-08:002011-02-17T08:30:54.240-08:00On the Fritz!Sorry for the absence of new posts this week! The computer I use for all my photos and uploading has died. I'm in the process of having the old hard drive transferred to a new computer, frankly it feels like Best Buy is holding my new computer hostage. The beautiful food photography inspired me to try one earlier in the week. Can I just say that food photography is HARD!? I came up with a yummy kale recipe and even remembered to take a few pictures of the plate. I seriously took about 20 photos (loser) and I might have 2 that I'm not ashamed to post. Kale is not photogenic.
But as I recall, this post is titled Mango and Ricotta Snack so let's get to it!
I didn't actually read the MSL recipe, just copied what I remembered seeing in the photo. "Martha" used apricots but the mango worked at our house! Clearly it's not rocket science but it was delicious.

I'll go ahead and admit that this is not a magazine worthy, top-quality project. Maybe if I was a better photographer I could pull off a more "finished" look but I decided to share anyway. I'm posting it because if you're tight on time and your decorating budget is nil, this is actually still doable. A large board can help cut down on clutter while at the same time bringing impact to an empty wall or focus to a room.

This project can translate to an office, a kid's room, a family room, etc. I'll go through the process with photos then list the price and materials breakdown at the end.

1. Take a look at your wall space and decide on the approximate size you'd like your board. I had 7 1/2 feet of empty wall space with 8 ft. ceilings and my board is about 40 in. square.
2. Lay out your foam board. Depending on your desired "final" size, you may have one solid piece of board or 3 or 4 pieces. As you see below I used 2 20"x30" boards and then cut another board in half lengthwise. I used one 10"x30" piece (top right) and then made another cut for the 10"x10" piece (top left). Foam board is easily cut with an exacto knife or straight blade (or frankly, a sharp knife from the kitchen).

Clearly, a solid rectangular piece is easier but I wanted a square! My Hobby Lobby also sold a 3'x4' piece that would work perfectly.
3. If you have multiple pieces simply square them up and then use duct tape to join into a solid piece.

4. Lay out your chosen fabric. I used burlap. (Call your craft or fabric store first to be sure they carry burlap). Burlap gives some texture to your space and doesn't compete with anything you may add to your board. As a bonus it's also inexpensive (about $3 a yard in my neck of the woods).

5. Just place the fabric on top (or underneath) of your board and cut an extra 2 inches around the perimeter.

6. With your fabric on the floor and the solid white side of your board against the fabric, begin to tape your fabric to the board. I recommend starting at the opposite centers to be sure your fabric is smooth and even over the board. For example, if your board was a clock you would tape at 12 and 6 o'clock, then at 3 and 9 o'clock. Work outward from those points.

7. As you approach the corners, fold the fabric over the corner and tape (basically on the diagonal). Then, pull the fabric snug to those edges and tape, making a neat fold on the back of your board.

I warned you this method wasn't anything fancy! If it makes you feel better you can add a long piece of tape to the back edges to make it look slightly more finished. Honestly, who cares? This will be hidden against the wall and no one will ever know that the back looks sloppy.

I used Command Hanging Strips for this board. Three strips can hold 9 lbs and my board isn't anywhere near that heavy. It solves the problem of rigging up a wire on foamboard (is that possible?) and saves your wall from nail holes.

8. Attach Command strips to the back of your board. Here's a little trick: cut a single Command strip in half to make a gripping set. This way you can use one pack of strips and spread them out on your board for better coverage.

9. Make pencil marks on your wall to ensure you are able to place your board exactly where you want it!

10. Remove the cover from your Command "pairs" and then press your board onto your wall space. I recommend another set of hands and eyes to help with this step, especially if you have a large board. Be sure to apply pressure for several seconds at each attachment point.

Hindsight's 20/20: I'm planning on making another board this week and this time I'll use the thick foam board (1/2") I saw at my craft store. A store bought bulletin board can also be covered with fabric, but an extra large cork bulletin board is a good deal more expensive than the foam board version.
Maybe I'm developing a "thing" for enamel ware, I've picked up several pieces in the last three weeks. I love this white with red short handled dipper.
And the last thing to share, a metal recipe card box from Avon. I'm assuming it was some type of giveaway, I'll have to do a little research. It's not really my style , I don't have much folksy stuff in my house but the colors are so cheery that I brought it home.
I received the Feb issue on Jan 31 and the January issue on Feb 4. Gee, thanks! It was pretty disappointing since I thrive on following Martha's calendar to THE LETTER. hee hee.

My favorite spread was on collecting and it highlighted several designers/artists and their collections. Artist Lisa Cogdon is pictured with her Mid-century kitchenware collection.
Lisa has an excellent blog which ran in 2010 highlighting her various collections, photographed and drawn. Before you go to A Collection a Day 2010 you should grab a cup of coffee because you'll be there awhile!
Also from February's Martha, a little blurb in the Great Finds section:
The editor is sharing a few neutral paint color choices. Look closely at the photo above. Yep, Dead Salmon. Really? It's by Farrow and Ball so not only does the name of the color make you want to gag but you also have to pay $85 for it!
Kids are playing quietly, getting along, allowing me to complete a few tasks without interruption. It's the exact scenerio I strive for as a parent but there is a downside. If they've been that good it's because they've been working so hard on some extensive Lego set-up or art display that takes up half a room. With my kids you can bet it's probably in the middle of a walkway or smack in front of the back door. Considering their angelic behavior of the past hour I try to show some empathy when it comes time to clean up "the mess". Don't you hate it when you spend 20 minutes folding laundry and someone knocks over the laundry basket? I imagine they feel the same about wrecking their creations.

If they are having a hard time letting go, whip out the camera! The kids know that their work/effort is valued and they love getting to play photographer for a couple of minutes.

This has really helped at our house. As a parent, I expect my kids to do what I ask of them. Of course now that I typed the words one of us will surely wake up with the flu tomorrow. I don't have optimal eating habits but I think I do pretty well and our kids don't turn their noses up at vegetables. I often forget about daily vitamins but I often rely on Emergen-C whenever I'm feeling sluggish or have the slightest symptoms of illness. It's a drink mix found in most grocery stores and is available in several flavors. I made myself a cup before sitting down to write this post, just a little water heated on the stove then poured into a coffee mug on top of the mix.

Apron Thrift Girl
I know it's silly, but this is one of my favorite images that she recently posted.

So...I decided to open my own shop on Etsy.

I've been an Etsy member for a couple of years now and have occasionally thought about various craft projects or children's activities that I could make and sell. Only very recently did I consider selling vintage goods. As I've stated in previous posts, I love using vintage finds in my home. When I was a kid my folks used to drag us around to antique stores and auctions. I probably complained at the time but I developed an appreciation for things old and of good quality. Three and four years ago I mostly shopped thrift stores for our family's clothing. I browsed antique stores in my free time but could rarely afford to make purchases. In the last year I've been able to spend a little money on our home and have found things I truly love at estate sales and antique markets. When I have free time, I really enjoy searching, and sifting. About a week into the new year I decided to take the leap. Within 48 hours I had expanded my Etsy profile, set shop policies and listed a handful of items (most of which had been in my possession for some time).
This leads us back to Apron Thrift Girl. In the past I've enjoyed her blog for the thrifted yumminess but over the past weeks I've focused on the reselling tips and even provided a link back to this blog from her "Thrift Share Monday". ATG is hosting a "ReSeller's Listing Challenge" for the month of February and I'm going to join in with a goal of increasing the items in my Etsy shop.Inside Voiceshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09627790132822946733noreply@blogger.com1
